What We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We also request access to your Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets to perform the core functions of the application.
How We Use Your Data
- Google Drive — to list, copy, and organize student essay files in folders you select.
- Google Docs — to read essay content for AI grading and insert scorecard tables into graded copies.
- Google Sheets — to generate class-wide grading report spreadsheets.
We only access files in the folders you explicitly choose. We do not scan, index, or access any other files in your Google Drive.
Data Storage
Project metadata, rubric configurations, and grading results are stored in a secure database. Essay content is processed in memory during grading and is not permanently stored on our servers. Your Google access tokens are stored in an encrypted session cookie and are never saved to our database.
Third-Party AI Services
Essay text is sent to AI language model APIs (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) for grading analysis. These services process the text according to their own privacy policies and do not retain your data for training purposes when accessed via API.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or student data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Revoking Access
You can revoke this application's access to your Google account at any time by visiting Google Account Permissions and removing EssayGrader Pro.
